Brian McDowell

Coach Brian McDowell is a UEFA B Licensed football coach with more than 15 years of coaching experience across Ireland and the United States. He has a proven track record of developing players, teams, and clubs by creating high-performance environments that challenge, support, and inspire players to reach their full potential.

His coaching philosophy combines technical excellence, tactical intelligence, physical preparation, and psychological development, with a strong emphasis on character, leadership, and lifelong learning. Brian is committed to developing intelligent, confident, and resilient footballers who excel both on and off the pitch.

Beyond coaching, Brian has contributed to the growth of the game through leadership roles with the Irish Football Association, supporting grassroots football development and infrastructure investment. He also served as a sponsor and advisor to the Foyle Cup, one of the world’s leading youth football tournaments, and founded the Cross Community Cup, an initiative that uses football to bring communities together.

As a former youth academy player in Ireland, with additional playing experience in Ireland and England, Brian brings an authentic understanding of the player development pathway and is passionate about helping young athletes maximize their potential.
